Wind Ensemble Receives "Superior" On March 6th, 2008 the WIND ENSEMBLE received a “Superior” rating for their performance at the JOHN BURROUGHS HIGH SCHOOL SCSBOA FESTIVAL. In addition, the ensemble received a “Superior” for sight reading. Congrats!

1st Place This past Saturday, our band won 1st Place in Division A at the 2007 Fullerton Festival of Bands Invitational Field Show Tournament! Our Color Guard won 3rd Place and the Percussion Section won 5th Place in a field of 15 HS bands.
3rd Place Congratulations to the Mira Costa Drumline for winning third place at the 2007 Moorpark Battle of the Bands.
2nd place Winterguard takes second place at the 2008 Azuza HS competition on Mar 8. Congratulations to all!
Unanimous Superior Performing at the Santa Monica High School SCSBOA Festival, the Wind Ensemble took high honors playing Donald Grantham's "Southern Harmony" and the Bhuelman transcription of the "Blessed are They" section of the Brahms German Requiem.
Superior Entering with music at the AA level (typically reserved for colleges and exceptionally good high school ensembles), the Concert Band earned a Superior Rating at the Torrance SCSBOA Festival, playing Phillip Sparke's "To a New Dawn" and Norman Dello Joio's ". . . From Every Horizon . . ."
3rd Place The Marching Band took 3rd place at the 2008 Los Altos Field Tournament with a score of 79.00; the highest score that Mira Costa has ever recieved at an SCSBOA level competition. Additionally, The Colorguard took 3rd place.
